​Dr. Marta Amengual-Gual, MD received the 2018 Grass Young Investigator Award for her abstract “Pre-hospital pediatric convulsive status epilepticus care often falls short of guideline recommendations (the pSERG cohort)” that was submitted the American Epilepsy Society conference in December 2018. This award recognizes eight outstanding young investigators conducting basic, translational, or clinical epilepsy research. This work was selected from over 1300 submissions.​

Dr. Marina Gaínza-Lein, MD and Dr. Juan Piantino, MD received the “John (Jack) Pellock Award” for their abstract “Long-term outcomes in children with refractory status epilepticus” that was submitted to the American Epilepsy Society conference in December 2017. This award recognizes and honors outstanding young investigators conducting clinical research in pediatrics related to epilepsy.​

Dr. Marina Gaínza-Lein, MD received the 2016 First Place for the prestigious “Ruth and William Silen, M.D. Award” for her poster presentation, "Status Epilepticus in Children: Relationship between Pre-hospital Treatment and Outcome" at the New England Science Symposium, sponsored by Harvard Medical School Office for Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership and Biomedical Science Careers Program.
